EliGlass

Divas Jewellery is proud to be the UKs premier supplier of EliGlass.

Fused Glass is a term used to describe glass that has been fired (heat - processed) in a kiln at a range of high temperatures from around 600 to 750 degrees centrigrade until the separate pieces bond or fuse together.

Many different effects by layering glass and by including compatible materials such as dichroic glass (glass coated with layers of metal oxides giving the glass special optical properties, used by NASA in satellites and spacesuit visitors), millefiori beads, glass 'confetti', beads, ceramic paper, even metals such as 22ct gold, silver, copper and mica.

Different results can also be achieved by 'cooking' the glass at different temperatures and timescales - the longer and hotter the glass is fired, the softer and more rounded the piece.

Fusing glass is an art and does mean that every piece is unique.
